Yes, I accept the Safeguarding Policy.
Norden Community Primary School takes an active part in the Rochdale Healthy Schools Programme. The aim of the Rochdale Healthy Schools Programme is to improve the health and well being of children and young people across the borough. Here at Norden as part of our commitment to the healthy growth and development of our learners we will promote a healthy lifestyle in school. We educate learners in science and in personal and social education (PSHE) about the importance of a healthy diet. We encourage healthy eating in school by ensuring that the food and drink we provide is healthy and nutritious. We work with parents, the Local Authority and other agencies, to extend healthy eating patterns into the wider lives of our learners. We believe that proper nutrition and fluid intake are essential to all members of the school community if they are to fulfil their potential in life. Proper nutrition is essential for good health and effective teaching and learning.
Each year we conduct an annual review where we assess our contribution to promoting a healthy lifestyle. This document is then shared with teaching staff, governors and the Local Authority. We have also achieved ‘Enhanced Healthy Schools Status’ for our work with pupils on promoting oral health and hygiene.
